Universal Analytics will continue to collect data until it's sunset in July 2023, and data will remain accessible for at least 6 months afterwards.

Step 1: Create a Google Analytics 4 Property

Start by creating a new Google Analytics 4 property in your Google Analytics account. Log in to your Google Analytics account, navigate to the Admin section, and select "Create Property" under the Property column. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the GA4 property.

Step 2: Obtain the Measurement ID

Once your GA4 property is created, you'll receive a Measurement ID. Copy this ID as you'll need it for the next step.

Step 3: Access Shopify Admin and Go to the Online Store Settings

Log in to your Shopify Admin panel and navigate to "Settings" and then "Online Store" in the left-hand menu.

Step 4: Enter the Measurement ID

Scroll down to the "Google Analytics" section and paste the Measurement ID obtained in Step 2 into the "Google Analytics Account" field.

Step 5: Save and Verify

Click on the "Save" button to save the changes. Shopify will automatically connect your store with Google Analytics 4 using the provided Measurement ID.
